Traditional Sculpting

Clay Types
The first step to traditional sculpting is to know what kind of different clays there are out there, not all clays are created equal. The clay you are most likely familiar with is playdoh, while this material is extremely cheap it can dry out and harden and does not hold its shape very well.
Next you have air dry or pottery clay, initially this clay can be very heavy as it contains water and is not very good for big or complex structures, and when it dries out it gets sturdier but also can crack and break and leaves residue behind
